Chapter Chat is always a hit in Room 14! It allows us to get creative, particularly in the Visual Arts. Check out this team effort between Luna and Troy! Luna drew the picture of 'Mum as a Clown' and Troy coloured it. Ka mau te wehi!

New Furniture

Room 14 are trialing some new furniture over the next couple of weeks. We love the varied learning spaces and levels that the new furniture provides us. 

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

Kia ora! Kei te pehea koe?
We have been learning about the Maori legend of Tinirau and Tutunui. These are not finished yet but are works in progress. Enjoy!

 

Coding

We are very lucky to have Code Club Aotearoa and Verizon Connect on board to support us with our Coding. Room 14 have Coding Hour on a Thursday afternoon and then we run an elective session on a Friday afternoon, where some students in Years 5-8 all come along. The children's skills are really developing and they are taking risks, collaborating and sharing their successes with one another.

Science

Over the term we have been learning about 'Reactions' and forming our own hypothesis around what we think may happen. Check out some of our wonderful Science Experiments that we have enjoyed. We have been discussing what makes an experiment a fair test and looking at variables that may affect the outcome of the experiment.
